Basil Keith Phillips, 68, of Cove Street, Princeton, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his home. Born on October 27, 1947 in Big Vein, VA, he was a son of the late George and Dixie Griffith Phillips. Basil served a tour in Vietnam with Army 101st Airborne. He worked in the coal mines at Eckman Pageton and Amonate for CONSOL and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Patince Robinson; and brothers, George and Jimmy Phillips; and sister, Billie Larue; niece, Cristy Phillips, and nephew, Robin Billiter. Left to cherish his memory are his: Son: Kevin K. Phillips of Princeton Companion of 28 years: Avis Mullins Sons: Donald Mullins Ronald Mullins Granddaughter: Sydney Phillips and Jessica Craft Grandson: Josh Robinson Special grandson: Phillip Mullins and Braydon Mullins Special granddaughters: Renae and Elizabeth Mullins Brother: Darrell Phillips and Jackie Sister in law: Irene Phillips and Laura Phillips Brother in law: Larry Larue Special brothers: Tommy Petrovich and Timmy Billiter Special family: Ruth Dinger, Barry and Brenda, Larry and Stacy, Wayne and Barbara Dinger, Ellen Hurt and Albert Stanger Several nieces and nephews Former Wife: Mary Patrick Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Dave Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
