Patsy Nelson

Patsy Ruth Nelson, 73, of Princeton Avenue, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on December 22, 1942 in Tip Top, VA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Thomas Hampton and Dorothy Hampton Nelson. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and was of the Holiness faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred, Raymond, Charles, Jr., and William Hampton; and sisters, Nancy Mullins, Beulah Belcher and Lavina (Carol) Rose. Survivors include: Husband: Billy Nelson of the home Sons: William E. Nelson and Dana of Princeton Robert Curtis Nelson and Karen of Rosedale, WV Daughters: Teresa Loman and Lonnie of Bastian, VA Angela Fife and friend Tim of Fries, VA Heather Nelson and friend Michael Lawson of Bluefield 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren Brother: Jimmie Hampton and Beulah of Tazewell, VA Sisters: Mary Baker of Rocky Gap, VA JoAnn Moore of Bluefield, VA Barbara Belcher and Jerry of Bluefield, VA A host of nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Chris Stansell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with grandsons and friends serving as pallbearers. Following funeral services, the family will meet at the home of William and Dana Nelson in Princeton. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
