Daniel Semonco

Daniel R. Semonco aged 76, of Berkley Springs, WV and Verona, VA passed from this life on January 19, 2016 after an extended illness. Mr. Semonco was born and raised in Elkhorn, WV. He attended Northfork-Elkhorn High School and served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Semonco of Elkhorn. Mr. Semonco was preceeded in death by brothers Andrew, Wash and George and by sisters Crystal Semonco and Mary Rollyson. Mr. Semonco is survived by three children and six grandchildren: Daniel Scott and grandchildren Kayla and Blake of Lexington, NC; Yana Arvinitis and grandsons Nicholas, Christopher and Theodore of Orlando, FL and Brandon and grandson Brently of Martinsburg, WV. Mr. Semonco has five remaining siblings: Ann Thompson of Laurel, MD; Helen Kume of Andover, OH; Eva Bailey of Columbia, MD and Carol and Jim Rankin of Verona, VA, and John Semonco, along with many loving nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. Funeral services will be conducted by Fr. Mark Tyson and Fr. John Moses at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Bluefield, WV on Thursday, January 27th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends and family may call at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell on Wednesday, January 26th from 6-8pm.
