Virginia "Jenny" Farmer

Virginia “Jenny” Davis Farmer 89, of 686 Unity Road Princeton, West Virginia formerly of Pageton, West Virginia passed away with her family in attendance at 11:13 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at her home. Jenny was born on December 09, 1926 in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Darn Davis and Teresa Davis. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother to all her family. She loved her family and friends dearly. She was educated in McDowell County, West Virginia and attended the Princeton Church of God. Jenny had been a resident of Athens for the past 15 years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and of the Vernal Farmer family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Vernal Ralph “Preacher” Farmer. One sister Kathleen Hatfield; one brother Freddie Davis; two son in laws Jimmy Davis, Bill Dillon and one daughter in law Ethel Farmer. Survivors Include: Daughters: Linda Davis of Country Side Road, Princeton, West Virginia Brenda Valach and husband Ted of Pansy Place, Princeton, West Virginia Carolyn Dillon of Unity Rd, Princeton, West Virginia Kathy Huff and husband Tommy of Eds Mill Road Princeton, West Virginia Darlene Pinter and husband Mark of Unity Road Princeton, West Virginia Sons: Danny Farmer of Pageton, West Virginia Kenneth Farmer and wife Mary of Ludowici, Georgia 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren Crystal Farmer and husband Dwayne; son Blake Farmer Kimberly Farmer and husband Danny; daughter Breanna Farmer Misty Miller and husband Kenny; son Dakota Miller and daughter Haley Miller Eddie “Pete” Green; son Brandon Green Shane Dillion Heather Davis Special Caregivers: Amedysis Hospice Green Valley, West Virginia Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield (Bluewell) West Virginia with the Rev. Dwayne “Chonger” Farmer and Pastor Fred Farley officiating the service. Burial will follow on January 21, 2016 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell where grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
