Betty Jo Bragg (Bennett) Gilley, 78, of Bluefield WV passed away January 4th 2016 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Betty was born on September 4th, 1937, to the late Everett and Lottie Bragg of Beckley, WV. She had made her home in Bluefield, WV for over 50 years. She worked at the Ramada Inn for 18 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gilley; her brothers, Lonzo (Lonnie) Bragg. Troy Bragg, and Corvin (Corky) Bragg. She leaves to cherish her memory, Daughter Margie and her husband Craig Boothe of Bluefield, VA. Sons, Dennis Bennett and his wife Rita of Bluefield VA. Steve Bennett and his wife Carolyn of Brown Summit NC. Her Brother Arland Bragg and his wife Yolonda. Step Daughter Darlene Gilley of Bluefield, VA. Her sister in laws, Stella Bell of Bluefield, WV. Patricia Tolliver and Susan Simmons both of Beckley, WV. Her grandchildren Angel Hedges and her husband Kevin of Bluefield, VA. Velvet Green and her husband Johnny of Reidsville, NC. And Kristie Scheffler of Radford. Step Grandchildren Mark and Chris Gillenwater; her great grandson Ashton Jessee who lovingly called her Granny G.; Robbie Allison of Brown Summit NC; and Great Grand Daughter's Kendra Hedges of Montcalm, WV, Brittany and Hayley Whitfield of Montgomery, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews. Special care givers, Brenda Milam, Kevin Hedges, Cheryl Arnold, Dana Nelson, Kathi Elliott for being there for mom anytime we needed. Dr. Phade, Dr. Khan, Dr. Javid, and Jennifer Anderson and nurses. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Tony Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Directly after the burial Friends and family will be meeting at the home of Craig and Margie Boothe.
