James Franklin Williams

James Franklin Williams, age 81, of Old Bramwell Road, Bluefield, WV died on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home. Born on September 27, 1934 in Crumpler, WV, he was a son of the late James Fred and Dinah Ethel White Williams. He had lived in Bluefield for the past 71 years and was a self-employed service station operator. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a member of the Cumberland Heights Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ray and Charles Ralph Williams; and sister, Irene Parker. Survivors include: Wife: Katherine “Kitty” Knight Williams of the home Sons: Randall Steven Williams of Bluefield, WV Philip Lee Williams and wife Dawn of Lexington, NC Daughter: Karel Lynn Williams of Bluefield, WV Brothers: Roger Williams and wife Kris of Princeton, WV Rodney Williams and wife Judy of Princeton, WV Sisters: Georgia Cahill of Bluefield, WV Grandchildren: Jeremy Williams, Amanda Rich and Laura Williams Clark Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Shawn Bragg officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Williams, Jon Rich, Russell Mitchem, Connor Mitchem, Ronnie Shinault and Gene Shinualt. Steve Williams serving as honorary pallbearer. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
