Anetia Pickett

Anetia O. Pickett, age 76, of 615 Cardinal Street, Bluefield, Virginia, formerly of Keystone, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday night, December 18, 2015 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born July 02, 1939 in Keystone, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late James Dominick Oliver and Maria “Mary” Antonia Rasi Oliver former proprietors of Mac’s Drive In. She was a proud graduate of the Northfork-Elkhorn High School class of 1957 and until her illness was active in attending and planning reunions. Anetia always held a special place in her heart for her classmates. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, West Virginia and had been a resident of Bluefield, Virginia for the past 29 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William “Jack” Pickett and two brothers James “Mac” Oliver Sr. and infant brother James D. Oliver Jr. She is survived by her daughter Tina M. Jones, and husband Kenny, whom she thought of as a second son, of Falls Mills, Virginia and her son Michael W. Pickett, of Charlotte, North Carolina; five grandchildren Ashlee East, Kirstin Pickett, Michaela Pickett, Darin Jones and Dominick Pickett; four great grandchildren Jackson, Kenlee, Baliegh and Kaiden. She also leaves behind a wonderful, loving extended family of an uncle, two aunts, four sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Additionally, very near, and dear, to her heart life-long friend Martha Roman Willis and husband Jack Willis. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, West Virginia with Father Elpidio Geneta officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Humane Society in honor of Anetia.
