Edith Elizabeth Blevins Ratcliffe 87 of Fellowship Road Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at her residence. Edith was born on December 29, 1928 in Coaldale, West Virginia to the late Willie Calvin Blevins and Mary Sue Winfrey Blevins. Edith was a member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, Methodist Women and Loyalettes Sunday School. She had been a resident of Bluewell for the past 60 years. Edith was a retired sales associate with Hills Department Store. Edith loved nature and was an excellent seamstress. She loved reading especially her Bible in her spare time she enjoyed word puzzles. Edith was much loved and was devoted to her church, church family and her love for music. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie C. Ratcliffe, two Sisters Nancy Foster, Betty Foster, two brothers Jack Blevins and Bill Blevins. Survivors Include: One Daughter: Donna Wyatt and husband Wade of Princeton, West Virginia Three Granddaughters: Tammy Yost of Bluewell, West Virginia Christy Kinder of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Denise Berry of Princeton, West Virginia Two Great Granddaughters: Candie Kinder and Andrew Brooks of Princeton, West Virginia Brittany Mills and husband Anthony of Princeton, West Virginia Four Great Great Grandchildren: Colton Brooks, Bridgette Brooks, Braxton Mills and the anticipated Laurel Elizabeth Brooks due in February. Three Sisters: Barbara Blevins of Bluewell, West Virginia Grace Blevins of Bluewell, West Virginia Norma Smith of Abingdon, Virginia Sister in Law: Marie Blevins of King, North Carolina Brother in Law: David Foster of Spartanburg, NC In addition to a host of nieces and nephews Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Bluewell United Methodist Church in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven Rector and Rev. D. Homer Stewart. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, West Virginia where Jim Webb, Kevin Crane, Terry Keller, Ashley Conley, Steve Yost and Steve Kinder will be serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dean Norris, David McKinney and Mike Carter. The Ratcliffe family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia. As well as on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 12:00 (Noon) until the time of her service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Bluewell United Methodist Church 228 Warden Ave. Bluefield, West Virginia. 24701 in honor of Edith.
