PRINCETON--During the early morning hours of December 10, Iris Gail Mills Hutchens left her earthly body at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents Wather and Agnes Mills, four brothers, and a special nephew. Those left to cherish her memory are son Bram Reed, Jr. and his wife Angela of Salem, VA, daughter Faith Hare Murphy and husband Mike of Roanoke, VA, and daughter Angelia Hutchens Tilley and husband Jack of Oak Hill, West Virginia. Also surviving are her adored grandchildren Gabriel Greenway, Alexander Reed, Julia Reed, and Jordan Murphy and her great-grandchild Aleena Grace Greenway; and a brother, Jerry (Pat) Mills. Other special grandchildren are Elaine Flinchum, Patrick Perkins, Karla Taylor, and Steven Perkins as well as a special niece Tara Mills Helm. Gail was a successful, local business woman and she valued her X-ray technician license. She loved all God’s creatures and would often adopt abandoned animals. Gail took pride in her extensive collection of antiques and she enjoyed flowers of all varieties. Gail will be remembered as a fearless, courageous, and fiercely independent woman. She passed this spirit on to her children. Her family will remember her special humor and her dry wit. Gail relocated to Vinton, Virginia three years ago due to health issues, but her heart remained in her beloved Bramwell, West Virginia. A memorial visitation to celebrate Gail’s life will be held this Sunday at 3 o’clock at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home. All family and friends are welcome. Please join us at Elaine’s afterwards if you can at 259 Eads Mill Road, Princeton, West Virginia.
