Virginia Merkle

BLUEFIELD, WV--- Virginia Merkle, of Anawalt passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at her home. Ms. Merkle was born at Anawalt, WV and was the daughter of the late Frank and Sadie Lakitch Merkle. She had been a lifelong resident of Anawalt and was a member of the Catholic Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew Merkle, Frank Merkle Jr., Steve Merkle and an infant brother; five sisters, Mary Loatman, Sadie Ingandela, Annie Merkle, Ruby Merkle and Goldie Gillespie; two Brother-in-laws, Richard Smith and Junior Gillespie; and a nephew, Steve Merkle, Jr. Surviving is her only sweet sister, Catherine H. Merkle Smith of Bluefield Special niece, Debra Fitzko of Bluewell Several Nieces and Nephews Christian Burial services will be Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Father Elpidio Geneta officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Bluewell. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
