Johnnie William Moore, 91, of Tazewell, VA, and formerly of Pageton, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his home.
Born on November 21, 1924 in Pageton, he was a son of the late Coley Moore and Carrie Fuller White. He had been a resident of Pageton for most of his life and was of the Methodist faith. He attended Gary High School and played on the Tri-County Baseball League. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and served during World War II. He was an avid bowler at Mountaineer Lanes in Bluefield. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Calfee Moore; sisters, Mabel (Pip) Bartley, Florence Nolley, and Betty Graham; and brothers, Melvin “Dickie” Moore, and Bobby Moore.

Grandchildren: Melanie Moore, Melissa Kroll and Ben, Ami Baumgartner and Johnnie Ray Moore
Great grandchildren:: Lucas and Logan Kroll; and A.J., Rebecca and Victoria Baumgartner
Brother: Jim Moore and Pat of Dunbar
Sister: Bonnie Hatfield and Tommy of Bluewell
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Jim Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be performed by the VFW Post #9696 of Bluefield, VA and the American Legion Post #14 of Pocahontas, VA. David Kroll, James Kennett, David Moore, Rod Whitt, Mack McKinney and Myron Tilley will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
