Samuel David Hood

Samuel “Sam” David Hood, age 69, of Old Coaldale Mountain Road, Coaldale, WV died on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on November 29, 1946 in Welch, he was a son of the late David and Flossie Tedder Hood. He had lived in Coaldale for the past 30 years and was a retired carpenter and roofer. He attended the Coaldale Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alfred David Hood. Survivors: Wife: Hattie McKinney Hood of the home Sons: Max Frye and wife Theresa of Coaldale, WV Otto Martin Frye of San Leandro, CA Brother: John Hood and wife Laurie of Hampton, GA Grandsons: Rocky Frye of Coaldale, WV Samuel Frye of Hayward, CA Kyle Wall of Clayton, NC Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Tim Lacy officiating. Burial will follow at the Goodloe Family Cemetery in Coaldale where his family and friends will be serving as his pallbearers.
