Melvin Edward “Mel” Hendricks, 59, of Royal Palm Beach, FL and formerly of Pocahontas, VA, passed away on October 13, 2015 at the Palms West Hospital.
Born on November 15, 1956 in Tazewell, VA, he was a son of Melvin Cox of Bluefield and Lynda Hendricks of West Palm Beach, FL. He was a mechanic and formerly worked at Cole Motors. After moving to Florida, he had his own garage and was a certified air conditioning specialist. He loved driving to Virginia and West Virginia to visit his parents and was a big NASCAR fan. He was a veteran of the US Navy.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with Bishop Michael York officiating. Burial will follow and military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at the service time.
