Ida Mae Clay, 81, of Jake Street, Montcalm, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at her home.
Born on May 6, 1934 in Montcalm, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ellie Hamblin Sublett. She had been a lifelong resident of Montcalm and was retired from the housekeeping department at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Montcalm Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Burton Clay; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Clay Hicks; and siblings, Ella Maxine Sublett, Rev. Herbert Sublett, Claude Sublett, Harry Sublett, Lewis Sublett, Amy Quillan, Eunice Robinette, John Roland Sublett, Ruth Blankenship, and Mark Sublett.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Austin, Elijah, Kameron and Chris Doughty, Jeffary Hicks II, Kevin Sullivan, Jason Grose, and Charles Myers.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 at the funeral home.
