Virginia "Nanny" Mae Buckner

Virginia Mae “Nanny” Buckner 92 of Bluewell, WV passed away on Thursday, September 03, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. Virginia was born on September 04, 1922 in Bramwell, WV to the late Booker Jones Hill and Mary Wasco Hill. Virginia had been a resident of Bluewell for the past 40 years. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. She was known by Nanny to all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Buckner, two sisters Myrtle McFadden; Elizabeth Tabor, one brother Ray Hill and one son in law Norman C. Mabe. Left to cherish her memory: Two sons: Gene Buckner and wife Mary of Bluefield, WV Dennis Buckner of Bluefield, WV Five Daughters: Sue Scott and husband Dempsey of Sebastian, FL Betty Casey and husband Carlos of Jonesborough, TN Ruth Peery and husband John of Bluefield, VA Janet Mabe of Princeton, WV Diane Lambert and husband Randy of Bluefield, VA Special Friends: Judy Sharpe and Daisy Walker Special Caregivers: Mary Croy, Sandra Riggs and Amedisys Hospice Staff 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 06, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV with Rev. C.T. Lilly and Rev. Jerry Buckner officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, September 05, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
