Lois E. Cumby Brown

Lois E. Cumby Brown, 84, went to her heavenly home with her family by her side in her home after a long illness on Thursday, July 02, 2015. She was born on December 22, 1930 in Falls Mills, VA to the late Arthur and Christine Wimmer. She was a dedicated wife and mother. Lois retired from BRMC in 1995 where she had worked as head cook. She loved her church, cooking, sewing and gardening. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Robert Kenneth Cumby of 49 years; one daughter Durinda Kay Hamm, four grandchildren Blake, Renda, David and Evelyn Farthing; her 2nd husband Woodrow Brown. Left to cherish her memory every day is: Two daughters: Veleda Davidson and husband Buck of the home Melissa Bunker and husband Greg Clay of Beckley, WV One Son: Virgil Cumby and wife Faye of Statesville, NC Four Granddaughters: Hope Sharp, Angel Yelton, Rebecca Verson and Angie Pendagrass Seven Grandsons: Bill and Robert Davidson, Virgil II and Victor Cumby, Stephen Bunker II, Jason and Justin Kegley. A host of great granddaughters and sons and three great great granddaughters One sister: Thelma Fields of Airport Rd. Bluefield, WV One Brother: James Wimmer of Prator Hollow Rd. Falls Mills, VA And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 05, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV with Pastors Michael Williams and Roy Williams officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV where grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, July 05, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of her service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
