Barbara Alice Belcher

Barbara Alice Belcher, 75, of Welch, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her residence after a long illness.  She was born on February 17, 1940 in Eureka Hollow, Eckman, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph "Simon" and Femie Mitchem. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Turpin, Virginia Lilly, and Willie Mae Hamilton, brothers, Noah Mitchem, Ernest W. Wade, and Melvin "Peb" Wade.   Mrs. Belcher attended Northfolk High School and was a former paralegal in Chicago, Illinois, teller at MCNB Bank in Welch, WV, assistant office manager for Mabe-Cartwright Motors in Welch, WV and office manager for Gianato Pontiac in Maitland, WV. Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband, Paris "Kelly" Belcher, Jr.,   her only son, Joseph Russell Belcher and three grandchildren, Nathanial Jacobs, Kayleigh Belcher, and Joseph Kelly Belcher. In addition, her sisters Sylvia Sparks and husband, Buddy, of Cookville, TN, Macy Cecil of Pickens, SC and one brother Joe Mitchem and wife, Virginia, of Mt. Juliet, TN, survive her.  Additional survivors include, her mother-in-law, Barbara J. Belcher ,  brother-in-law, Brian Belcher, both of Huntington, WV, sisters-in-law, Diana Crockett and husband, Richard of Princeton, WV, and Rhonda Duckworth and husband, Greg, of Beaver, WV. She also has a host of nieces and nephews.   The family will receive visitors from 6-9 at Cravens Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, WV on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.   Funeral service will be conducted the following day, July , 2015 at Cravens Shires Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Long of Welch, WV will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
