Phyllis Jean Thomason, 76, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Phyllis was born on September 28, 1938 in Montcalm, West Virginia to the late Glen and Ruby Belcher Brooks. Phyllis was retired from the United Sates Post Office in Bluefield, West Virginia after 38 years of service. She was also a member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James R. “Jim” Thomason; one granddaughter Melissa Jones and one sister Julie Muriel Walker.

Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren
Funeral service will be held for Phyllis on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia where Rev. John Bullock officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia where Dustin Deaton, Tim Mattingly, Chris Jones, Jack Sarver, Mel Oliver, Bill Harman, Fairly Hall and Bob Jones will be serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
