Margaret Ann Cheek

Margaret Ann Cheek, 83, of Highway 15 (Kirkley Court), Myrtle Beach, SC, and formerly of Bluefield, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Piney Flats, TN. Born on July 13, 1932 in Freeman, she was a daughter of the late Otha Lee and Lilly Eugenia Hale Johnston. She had been a resident of Myrtle Beach for 21 years and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was retired from Mercer County Board of Education with 24 years of service and was a former member of the Pocahontas Women’s Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: 3 daughters: Sara Camps and Bradd of Piney Flats, TN Susan Butt and husband Roy of Nemours Sandra Thompson of Princeton 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Sister: Shirley Cox of Springville, VA Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Tony Reed officiating. Burial will follow on Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30-10:00 at the funeral home.
