Dexter Wayne Carver, 54, of Heritage Apartments (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the home of his sister in Durhing.
Born on September 14, 1960 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Edward Carver and Iva Tiller Jenkins. He had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and was a carpenter and janitor. He attended the Victory Baptist Church on Stoney Ridge Road. He loved to camp and fish. He was a loving and caring Dad and Grandpa and was loved by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Elbert Jenkins; and a sister, Connie Coeburn.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
