Kathy Phillips

Kathy Phillips, 58, of Honeybee Lane, Gary, WV, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Welch Community Hospital. Born on August 25, 1956 in Welch, she was a daughter of Betty Powell Goins of Gary and the late Lloyd Goins. She had been a resident of Gary for 30 years and was a mapping coordinator for the Welch/McDowell 911. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Haywood and Emma Goins; and Virginia and Harry Powell. Survivors include: Mother: Betty Goins of Gary Husband of 30 years: Danny Phillips of the home Son: Scott Jessee and wife Heather of Salisbury, NC Daughter: Marielle Messick and husband Brian of Bluefield 5 granddaughters and 3 grandsons Sisters: Rena Finley and husband Lee of Bluefield, WV Debbie Roberts and husband Carl of Burlington, NC Ginger Rose and husband Chuck of Bluewell A host of nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Father Mark Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00-12:00 at the funeral home.
