Roy Edward Whitt, Sr. 87, of Airport Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on February 16, 1928 in Boissevain, VA, he was a son of the late Gladys Whitt. He formerly lived in London, KY where he worked for Griffin Pie Company and Flowers Bakery. He was a member of the Lorton Lick Wesleyan Church. Survivors include: One son Roy E. “Bad Eye” Whitt Jr. and wife Barbara of Bluefield, VA One Daughter Mary “Red” Proffitt and husband Robert of London, KY Five grandchildren: Frankie Allen “Punkin” Whitt and wife Reba of Bluefield, WV Robert Earl Proffitt, Jr. of London, KY Steven Edward Proffitt of London, KY Bobby Wayne Proffitt of London, KY Nellie Louise Hugo of London, KY Three Great Granddaughters: Constance Roark of Lexington, KY Stephanie Roark of Lexington, KY Amber Nichole Nantz of London, KY Two Great Grandsons: Arthur Garrett Fisher of London, KY Charles Wayne Nantz of London, KY Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 3:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Barry Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 at the funeral home.
