Helen Musick

Helen Musick, 83, of Nemours Valley Road, Bluefield, WV, left this world on March 11, 2015 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on March 7, 1932 in Coopers, she was a daughter of the late George and Maxie Elizabeth Artrip Musick. She had been a resident of Nemours and Bramwell for most of her life and was a member of the Pocahontas Baptist Church. As a 1950 graduate of Bramwell High School she still showed her pride in the “Millionaires”. She retired in 1992 from R&T Electric from the accounting department. She still talked to her work family and what they were doing today. Helen had a close and devoted life with our Lord Jesus Christ, her life was an example to all who knew her and those who met her in her 83 year journey in this life. The Lord has taken her home and hopefully those of us staying will meet her there. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Robert Musick and William Harold Musick; paternal grandparents, Elbert and Dora Puckett Musick and; and maternal grandparents, Jim and Amy Compton Artrip. Survivors include: Mildred Marie Dowdy of Vinton, VA Nieces and nephews: Darlene McManus, Patricia Woodard, Bernard Dowdy, Jr., David Dowdy, and George Robert Musick, Jr. Several cousins and friends Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. William Davis and Rev. Ted Anders officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Clayton Musick, David & Bernard Dowdy, Michael Hale, Tim Gillespie, and William J. Johnson serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
