Nancy E. O'Dell

July 17, 1942 — February 21, 2015

ROANOKE, VA - On Saturday, February 21, 2015, Nancy E. O'Dell, (Nant), 72, of Roanoke, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by her family as she passed peacefully. She put up a strong fight for many years but never once lost her faith or the compassion she felt toward others. Nancy was a caregiver all of her life, always putting others before herself. Nancy was born July 17, 1942, in Matoaka, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry F. Odle and Victoria Spicer Odle. She was a loving and faithful wife of 46 years to Ollie E. O'Dell, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Charlotte E. Church. She is survived by three daughters, Diana L. Smith and husband, Mario Smith; Lisa L. Love and boyfriend Doug Herndon; Tonya K. Brown and husband Tommy Brown, all of which who loved and cared for her; one granddaughter, Samantha B. Weiss and husband Ian Weiss, and three grandsons, Joseph D. Hicks II and wife Kim Hicks, Robbie D. Alexander, and Conlan D. Brown. Also survived by a special sister, Sylvia M. Green and five brothers, Harry (Peanut) Odle, Tomie (Skip) Odle, Willie (Jimmy) Odle, Roscoe Odle and Lonnie Odle. Nancy was a mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and everyone's "momaw". She enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting red birds, gardening and red roses. She was a very special person that was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1:00pm, at Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell) Bluewell, WV. Graveside service will follow at the Odle Cemetery on Conner Mountain, weather permitting. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 6-8pm at Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV
