Opal Lee Shires

Opal Lee Persinger Shires, 89, of Mapledale Lane Bluefield (Green Valley), West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her residence. Opal was born on October 25, 1926 in Gap Mills, West Virginia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Persinger. She was a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Green Valley since 1957. Opal was a retired receptionist from an optometrist office in Bluefield, West Virginia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Sidney Shires. Survivors Include: Two Sons: Stephen Shires of Kernersville, North Carolina Brian “Scott” Shires of Bluefield, West Virginia One Grandson: Larry Shires of Kernersville, North Carolina Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 02, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, February 01, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
