Doris Whitlow, 96, of Bluefield, Virginia passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, Virginia. Doris was born on Monday, July 22, 1918 in Bassett, Virginia to the late Frank and Nannie Dodson Feazell. She was a member of the Fincastle Presbyterian Church in Bluefield, Virginia and the Red Hat Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sidney R. Whitlow, a son Stephen G. Whitlow, a grandson Mark Whitlow, five sisters Beatrice Angle, Ethel Sink, Deane Sherr, Alma Edwards and Diana Collins, three brothers Elmer, Robert and Forest Feazell. Survivors Include: Three Daughters:Nancy Carlton of Bluefield, VA, Brenda Bowman and husband Clifford of Abbs Valley, VA, Janice Jennings and husband James of Panama City, FL.Two Sons: Sidney Whitlow of Las Vegas, NV and Phillip Whitlow and wife Jane of Monroe, NC. Daughter in Law:Janet Whitlow of Kernersville, NC. Sister: Juanita Thomas of Newbern, NC. Special Niece: Wylene Beckum of Eatonton, GA Thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Manning officiating the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia where John Crutchfield, Keith Bowman, Jeffrey Bowman, Greg Whitlow, Eric Scott and Shawn Feazell will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
