Brenda Joyce Proffitt

Brenda Joyce “Jody” Proffitt, age 58, of Meadow Loop Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on October 9, 1956 in Roanoke, VA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Elbert Cox, Jr. and Annie Stewart Cox. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and attended the Southview Church and Echoes of Calvary. She was a retired clerk from Kroger in Bluewell, where she served on several charitable committees. Survivors include: Loving and devoted husband: Jerry Proffitt of the home Son: Michael Cox of Bluefield Jeremiah Workman of Bluefield Daughter: Kimberly Cox of Bluefield Bryanna Proffitt of Bluefield Stepson: Jimmy Proffitt of NC Grandchildren: Braxton Proffitt and Jacie Proffitt Billy, Jacob and Donnie Nichols Brother: Tommy Cox of Nemours half-sister: Linda Hamilton of Roanoke, VA Several cousins Friends may call on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
