William "Bill" Mooney, Sr.

William “Bill” Eugene Mooney, Sr., 76, of Stoney Ridge Road, Bluefield, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Princeton Health Care. He was a loving husband of 52 years, a wonderful father and grandfather and has gained his wings. He has a new body and a new mind. He has met his Heavenly Father face to face. Born on February 20, 1938 in Norton, VA, he was a son of the late Rev. Albert Roy Mooney and Mary E. Short Mooney. He had been a resident of Bluefield for most of his life and was a retired truck driver from Pounding Mill Quarry. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He was all about his family and his faith. Our hearts hurt but we rejoice in Heaven’s gain and His perfect healing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Sue Mooney; a brother, Bobby Wayne Mooney; and a son in law, Al Repass. Survivors include: Wife: Brenda Gillespie Mooney of the home 2 sons: Darryl Mooney and Misti of Bluefield, VA William Mooney, Jr. and Amy of Princeton, WV Daughters: Kimberly Repass and John Robbins of Tazewell, VA Amanda Anderson and Rev. Titus of Coeburn, VA Grandchildren: Channing, Taylor, Hannah, Logan, Shanlee, Zoee, Jared, Kody, Zack, Kelsey, Brianna Brothers: Roy Mooney and Janet of Abingdon, MD Rev. Fred Mooney and Brenda of Sandlick Rev. James Mooney and Dorothy of Bluefield Wesley Mooney and Bluefield David Mooney and Karen of Bluefield Sister: Mary Ann Ferguson and Danny of Bluefield, VA Special friends and extended family at Princeton Health Care Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. John Eden, Rev. Danny Anderson, and Rev. Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Channing Mooney, Kody Wimmer, Jared Repass, Aaron White, Corey White, and Nate Mooney will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Lee Robbins, Tyler Collins, and Cody Collins will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
