Arthur “Ott” Christian PICTURE w/ this obit Arthur “Ott” Christian, 48, of Laurel Street (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at his home. Born on April 9, 1966 in Welch, he was a son of Nancy Christian Hampton of Bluefield and the late Arthur Mc Peak. Ott grew up in McDowell County and had resided in the Bluefield and Bluewell area for the past 30 years and was an avid WVU fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a kind and loving person willing to help anyone anytime. He was a lead cook at Macado’s for over 20 years before being disabled due to a back injury. In addition to his father, he was preceded maternal grandparents, Mary Jane and Johnny Christian. Left to cherish his memories are: His loving wife: Rhonda “Sue” Christian of the home Son: Jonathan “John Boy” Christian of the home Daughter: Sara and husband John Mitchell of Princeton and their daughter, Skylar Mitchell Stepdaughter: Brandi and Chris Lewis of the home 3 special children who thought of him as their grandfather, Ryan, Ian, and Kylee Clark The mother of his children: Tina Christian and companion Terry of Virginia Beach, VA. Mother: Nancy Christian Hampton and husband George of Bluefield Brother: Johnny and wife Renee Haley of Tazewell, VA Sisters: Carol Sue and husband Bobby Dillon of Glenwood and Carrie Hampton of Bluefield, VA Special Aunt: Bonnie Hash and companion Gary of Bluefield Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins Best Friend: David Hall of Bluefield Beloved dog: Lady Bird Ott was very easy going and loved by many and will be truly missed. “Go Rest High on the Mountain Brother. Your work here is done.” We love you and will miss you greatly. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 3:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Raginold Legget officiating. Burial will follow at the Dillon Family Cemetery in Goodwill with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
