Brenda Cole Meyer, 74, of 2217 Spring Garden Drive, Bluefield, WV, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at her home. She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, and was preceded in death by her father John Holbrook “Bookie” Cole. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 31 years, Paul S. Meyer, of the home, mother, Frances Miller Cole of Bluefield, sister, Chris Cole Robinson and husband Mike of Abingdon, VA, three sons, Henry H. Jones and wife Kim, Douglas E. Jones and wife Tiffany, all of Bluefield, and John D. Jones of Greensboro, NC, five grandchildren, Nicole Lockhart-Jones of Charlestown, WV and Daniel Jones, Mary Jones, Turner Jones and Maggie Jones all of Bluefield, and several nieces and nephews.
Brenda graduated from Concord College in 1961 with a degree in Education. She worked for many years as a Stock Broker in Bluefield and then as a Real Estate Broker until she retired. She was a member of the Bluefield Quota Club, Garden Club, and a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Brenda was an avid painter and member of the Appalachian Artist Association. She won many awards and ribbons for her work.
Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Ridenhour officiating the service. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park in Bluefield, WV where pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons as well as nephews, Michael Robinson, Mark Robinson and Matt Robinson.
The family will receive friends at the Immanuel Lutheran Church one hour prior to the services.
