II Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Larry Joe Wimmer age 60, of Bluefield, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. Born on January 14, 1954, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Carl Everett and Virginia Hager Wimmer. He had lived in Mercer County his entire life and had worked at both Carter Machinery and Pounding Mill Quarry as a Diesel Technician. He was also a farmer, heavy equipment mechanic and truck driver. He was a hard worker. He was a member of the Destiny Outreach Ministries Church. He was a man of many talents and was kind and helpful to everyone. He was always happy and tried to bring a smile to everyone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jack and Barry Wimmer. Survivors Include: Wife of 36 years whom he loved dearly: Kathy Poseno Wimmer of the home His children whom he loved with all of his heart: Julie Ann Wimmer Nicholas and husband Robin of Warrenton, VA Kelsey Wade Wimmer and wife Bethany of Tazewell, VA Cody Joe Wimmer and wife Stephanie of Bluefield, WV 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter that he adored and loved Brother: William Wimmer and wife Jean of Winston-Salem, NC Sisters: Bonnie Goforth and husband Kenneth of Bluefield, WV Joyce Pruitt and husband Charles of Bluefield, WV Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Ministers Ann Nash and Steve Branch officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Darrell Goforth, Ben Thomas, Eddie Mabe, Mike French, Danny Culver, and George Keczan will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
