Clarence James Gibson

Clarence James “Poppa” Gibson 83 of Nemours Valley Road Bluefield, WV passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his residence. Clarence was born on Tuesday, May 12, 1931 in Bluefield, WV to the late Clarence Clayton Gibson and Zula Mae Conner Gibson. He has been a resident of Nemours for the past 13 years. Clarence was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was wounded during his service earning the Purple Heart. He was a former employee of Virginia Foods in Falls Mills, VA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Gladys Lawrence. Survivors include: His wife: Carolyn Sue “Suedee” Page Gibson of the home One daughter: Nikki Dofflemyer of Pennsylvania One Step Son: Kevin Perry and wife Carla of Texas One Step Daughter: Lisa Watkins of Florida Three Brothers: Gene Gibson and wife Lois of Bluefield, WV Bobby Gibson and wife Sharon of Salem, VA Frankie Gibson and companion Sharon of Bristol, TN Two Sisters: Elenora Harry of Bluefield, WV Ruby Hamlin of Bluefield, WV Eleven Grandchildren and Two Special Grandchildren: Kayla Lamie and Matt Pennington A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 01, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV with Pastor David Kirby officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
