Ray Edmer Marshall, age 76, of Old Lerona Road, Lerona, WV, died on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on July 7, 1938, in Rock, WV, he was a son of Sam and Dorothy Mabe Marshall. He had lived in Lerona for the past 17 years and was a Deacon at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Matoaka High School and was retired as a coal miner with 20 years of service. He was a UMWA member.
Ray loved his Lord, his family, his church and bluegrass music. He played the guitar all his life. All those who knew him will miss his smiling face, laughter and quick wit.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Elder Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Wickline, Marty Shrewsbury, Paul Dalton, Ted Sanders, Robert Surface, Jr. and Noah Edwards. Friends may call on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
