Gladys Paulette Tipton

Gladys Paulette “Polly” Tipton, age 71, of Coaldale Mountain, Bramwell, WV, formerly of Maybeury, died on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital following an automobile accident. Born on December 27, 1942 in Switchback, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Lillie Johnson Hodge. She had been a resident of Mercer County most of her life and was a member of the Coaldale Freewill Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include: Son: Thomas Clyde Tipton, Jr. and Pearl of Bramwell, WV Brother: Jack Hodge of Dobson, NC Sisters: Julia M. Sigmon and Richard of Bluefield, WV Brenda Harless and Raymond of Bluefield, WV Grandson: Ethan Tipton Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Roger Lacy officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Her friends and family will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home
