Buford Lee Lusk, 77, of Gilia Lane, Montcalm, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at The Maples Nursing Home in Bluefield. Born on July 13, 1937 in McComas, he was a son of the late Charlie Lee and Mattie Taylor Lusk. He was a retired mine foreman with 19 years of service and formerly worked at Lusk Disposal and the Dye Plant. He attended the Church of Christ. He had been a lifelong resident of Montcalm and was a veteran of the US Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Turner Lusk; 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Survivors include: Son: Damien Lusk and Fiancé Stacie Hopkins of Conover, NC 2 daughters: Michele Perkins and Jimmie of Montcalm Rhonda Johnson and Jeff of Bluefield 5 grandchildren: Breanna Blu Jones and Greg; Jarred Edward Perkins, Hannah Nicole (Kellee) Johnson; Katyton Perkins and Jakob Johnson Great granddaughter: Ada Lynn Jones Sister: Arbutus Patterson of Bluefield Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Teddy Wayne Warden officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Jimmie Perkins, Jarred Perkins, Greg Jones, Donald Perkins, Keith Coeburn, and Teddy Warden will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
