Stella Marie Helmandollar

Another angel received her wings. Stella Marie Hamby Helmandollar, 87, of Duck Pond Road (Bluewell), Bluefield, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Loving Hands Nursing Home in Bluefield. Born on May 18, 1927 in Mohegan, WV, she was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Virginia Elizabeth McGlamary Hamby. She was a former resident of Sundial where she owned and operated the Sundial Tavern. She had also formerly worked for Paramount Dry Cleaners, Maidenform, and the Dinner Bell Restaurant. She had been a homemaker since 1978. She was of the Baptist faith but in recent years attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints while her health allowed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Helmandollar; brothers, Ralph, Clayton (Tinker), Clarence (Everett), Jacob and Robert; sisters, Christeen and Colinne; and grandchildren, Tracy Ray Tibbs, Jr. and Kevin Matthew Brock. Survivors include: Children: Priscilla Cecil of Bluewell Brenda Lancaster and Charles of King George, VA Sharon Brock and Clark of Smithfield, PA Step-children who she considered as her own: Larry Helmandollar and Patsy of Davidson, NC Linda Helmandollar of Garner, NC Gary Helmandollar and Bonnie of Bluewell 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren Brothers: Bill Hamby and Stella of Ypsilanti, MI Jean Hamby and Carl of Taylorsville, IL Jim (Ronnie) Hamby and and Sandy of Shell Rock, IA Sisters: Gloria Bubelka of Port Richie, FL Jane Reeve and Bob of Conway, AR Virginia (Lucille) Salas and Jess of Melvindale, MI Sisters in law: Dawn Hamby, Aretta Hamby and Lucy Probst Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family Special caregivers: the staff of Loving Hands Nursing Home Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Rev.
