Walter Lee Nicewander

Walter Lee Nicewander, 82, of Locust Grove Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on September 23, 1931 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Earl and Hazel Fisher Nicewander. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield. He was a retired firefighter for the City of Bluefield, having 22 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Nicewander. Survivors include: Wife: Ruth P. Goodman Nicewander of the home 2 sons: Russell L. Nicewander and wife Staci of Bluefield Phillip (Todd) Nicewander and wife Traci of Bluefield Daughter: Tina Denis Wallace of Lashmeet 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 10:00AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. James Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Russell and Todd Nicewander, Rodney Wallace, Steve Meadows, Jacob Pollard, and Craig Maynard will serve as pallbearers.
