Sue Burkett

Sue Arvilla Burkett, 80, of Burke Mtn., Keystone, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on August 25, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Edward Preston and Peggy Green Sizemore. She had been a resident of Burke Mtn. for all of her life and was a member of the Penridge Old Regular Baptist Church on Burke Mountain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Stuart Burkett; a son, David Lynn Burkett and several of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include: 2 sons: Allen Burkett and Tina of Burke Mtn. Jimmy Burkett of Burke Mtn. 2 daughters: Debbbie Combs and Doug of Sugar Grove, VA Sue Mitchem of Burke Mtn. 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren 1 brother: Edward Sizemore and Barbara of Bluewell 1 sister: Mary Brinn of Michigan Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Penridge Old regular Baptist Church on Burke Mountain in Keystone. Burial will follow at the Mitchem Ridge Cemetery on Burke Mountain where Brandon and Cody Burkett, Douglas Combs, Jr., Daniel Combs, Dwight and Dewayne Sizemore will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
