Anthony Paul Peretti

I am the living bread that came down from heaven, says the Lord. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever. John 6:51-52 Anthony Paul Peretti, 66, of 2015 Jefferson St., Bluefield, WV departed this life Thursday August 14 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born January 10, 1948 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Domenic and Dora Veneri Peretti of Keystone, WV. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (nonno) and a dedicated member of Bluefield Sacred Heart Catholic Church having served as a Lector and adult altar server. Anthony grew up in Keystone, WV and was a graduate of Northfork High School class of 1967. He completed his under studies at Bluefield State College and went on to graduate from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio. Anthony was a funeral director, serving families for more than 30 years before retiring in 2002. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp obtaining the rank of Sergeant. One of his greatest joys and a lifetime of precious memories were his Camp Thomas E. Lightfoot reunions with his lifelong friends. He was a camper and counselor, enjoyed the great outdoors and loved music. He was technologically savy and in his spare time he loved to fix computers. Throughout the years, Anthony loved all his canine companions. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patti Peretti Pickett. Left to cherish his memory are wife of 36 years, Patty Clemens Peretti of Bluefield and two loving and dedicated sons, Matthew Paul Peretti of the home and Anthony Domenic Peretti and wife Gray and one special grandson, Eli Domenic Peretti of Bluefield, Virginia who always brought a smile to his face; one sister, Karen Cassell and husband Eugene of North Tazewell, VA. He is also survived by two nephews, Chris Cassell, wife Traci and great Niece and Nephew Brady and Taylor Cassell of Boones Mill, VA, Chad Pickett and wife Meredith of Tuscumbia, AL, and one niece Karen Michelle Newman, husband Bill and great Niece Kayla Dillow of Bluefield, VA; one special surviving Aunt Tillie Zabot of Arden, NC and cousins Robert Zabot of Virginia Beach, VA and Rose Marie Zabot Ellis also of Arden, NC. ; Cathy Feather and husband Larry of Union, KY; and Ed Colombo of Dodge City, Kansas. Funeral services to celebrate Anthony Paul Peretti's life will be conducted on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, WV with Father Elpidio Geneta presiding. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dave Ballard, Charles Carl, Dr. A. Chandel and Danny Thacker. Military honors provided by the Marine Corp honor guard. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. with the Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. directed by Deacon Don Hammond at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV.
