Emmitt Hughes

Emmitt L. Hughes, 59, of Tazewell, VA passed away July 29, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Athens, WV, Emmitt relocated to Tazewell several years prior to his death. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Lee Hughes, and one sister, Lita Zachariades, all of Montcalm, WV. Emmitt is survived by one brother, Terry Hughes of Tazewell, VA, and two sisters, Shelby Dudley, also of Tazewell, and Rita Roberts of Florida. Emmitt was a kind, generous man who quickly made friends with those around him, especially other participants with AllCARE for Seniors of Cedar Bluff, VA. His friends and staff at AllCARE are thankful they had the opportunity to know him and his presence will be missed. Emmitt had a rare quality that few possess – humility. His genuine and altruistic spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A private memorial service was held for Emmitt with close friends and family in attendance.
