Kermit Clayton Lucado, 79, of Surface Hill Road (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield. Another one of God’s children was called Home.
Born on January 4, 1935 in Montcalm, he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson “Jack” and Rivers Bessie Sublett Lucado. He had been a resident of Bluewell for most of his life and was a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the US Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Seay and Ruby Sanders; and two brothers, Vernon and Kyle Lucado.

3 children: Kathy and Monty St.Clair of Emory, VA
Lyndon (Dale) and Melissa Lucado of Bluefield
Pamela Lucado of Princeton
3 grandchildren: Sarah St.Clair, Olivia and Caitlyn Lucado
Adopted Daughter: Dorothy Stephenson
4 adopted grandchildren: Josie, Santana, Austin, and Shannon
A loving friend and companion: Wilma Ballard
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David Kirby and Rev. Ryan Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Bucky Lucado, Tommy Andrews, Johnny Tooley, Michael Tate, Lloyd Mcleod and Jamie Umberger will serve as pallbearers and Michael Belcher as honorary pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 at the funeral home.
