Dorothy Ann Surface

Dorothy Ann Gillenwater “Dot” Surface, age 82, of Surface Hill Road, Bluefield, WV, died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at her home. Born on September 11, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Sylvia Lusk Gillenwater. She had lived in Sandlick for the past 60 years and was a member of the Sandlick Methodist Church. She was a 1950 graduate of McComas High School and was retired manager from a small convenience store. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Cook. Survivors include: Son: Robert “Bobby” Surface of Lindside, WV Daughters: Jane Martin and husband Jim of Bluefield, WV Sherree Farmer of Bluefield, WV Brothers: Kenneth Gillenwater and wife Ruth of Lindside, WV W.D. Gillenwater and wife Nancy of Bluefield, WV Sister: Macil Quillan of Montcalm, WV 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Melody Rickman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Martin, Jeremiah Farmer, Hunter Browning, Michael Perkins, Cody Farmer, Robbie Surface, Robert "Bobby" Surface, Butch Quillan, and T.J. Petty. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:30 – 2:30 PM at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service.
