Harold Eugene Hambrick

Bluefield- Harold Eugene Hambrick, 81, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Friday June 20, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 12, 1933 in Bluefield, WV he was a son of the late James Thurmond and Alice Cosby Scarberry Hambrick. Mr. Hambrick was affiliated with the New Salem Methodist Church, a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army, and a past member of the Bluefield Moose Lodge. Harold was also a retired truck driver for Gordon Lusk Transport. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a daughter; Janet Bourne, four sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of the home; Margarette Barnette Hambrick of the home, a daughter; Deborah DeHart and husband Steve of Rocky Gap, VA, a sister; Emmogene Farrey of North Charleston, SC, four step-children; Pat Johnson and husband Ronnie, Janet Brummell and husband Chris, Sharon Woods and husband Mike, David Burgess , thirteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services for Mr. Hambrick will be conducted Monday June 23, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with the Rev. David Barnette and Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be friends of the family. Friends may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Sunday June 22, 2014 from 6:00P.M. – 8:00P.M. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard on Tuesday June 24, 2014 at 10:00A.M. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Princeton, WV. Those wishing to attend committal services are asked to meet at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M.
