William Bill Knight, Jr.

William Eugene “Bill” Knight, Jr. 68, of Conover, NC formerly of Philippi, WV passed away after a long illness Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his residence. Bill was born on August 11, 1945 in Philippi, WV to the late William Knight Sr. and Bernadine Stanfield Knight. He had been a resident of North Carolina for the past 27 years and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the NRA and Lifetime member of North American Hunting and Fishing Club. He worked as a coal miner for 35 years working for both Badger Coal Company and Pittston Coal Company. After moving to North Carolina he worked for Broyhill Furniture Company for 15 years where he designed chairs. Bill graduated from Tygarts Valley High School in Mill Creek, WV and attended college at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter; Lori Ann Knight and two brothers; David James Knight and Marcus Bouton. Survivors Include: His wife: Elane Wallace Knight of the home Two Sons: Joshua Gage Knight of the home William Eugene Knight II and wife Ellen of Philippi, WV Two Daughters: Summer Hardesty and husband Jeff of Clarksburg, WV Nancy McKinney of NC Four Brothers: Charles Westley Knight of Philippi, WV Stanley Knight of Philippi, WV Eugene Knight of Philippi, WV Randall Mouser of Philippi, WV Four Sisters: Rebecca, Cheryl, Flora and Patricia all of WV Five Grandchildren: Magen, Zack, Laken, Lori Ann and Will Two Great Grandchildren: Issacc and Aubree Funeral service will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. James Bassett officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
