Harry M. "Pat" Carter

November 25, 1931 — June 9, 2014

Harry Max (Pat) Carter, age 82, of Bluefield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 9, 2014 after a long illness. He was born on November 25, 1931, in Bluefield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lydia Peters Carter, his late wife Shirley Honeyak Carter, his youngest step-daughter, Toni Lynn Bailey, his brother, Glen (Bub) Carter and his sister Alpha Neely. He is survived by his 3 remaining step-children, Joe Honeyak, Joani Tabor and Rhoda Burbage, six grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his sister, Glenna Underwood, Paul and Janie Carter Dale along with many nieces, nephews and other family members who loved him dearly. Also surviving is a special niece and caregiver, Lynn Glaubke, his niece, for her love and care during his long illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 12:00pm (Noon) at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Ministers Frankie Watkins, Dic Burbage and Glenn Tabor, Jr. officiating. Graveside rites will immediately follow the service at the Poe Family Cemetery, Bluewell, WV. Friends may call on Thursday, prior to services, from 11:00am to 12:00pm (Noon) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Church of Christ or the charity of your choice.
