Charles Walter Broomfield

May 17, 1991 — May 29, 2014

MAYBEURY — Charles Walter Broomfield, 23 of Maybeury, WV was called home to Heaven on Thursday, May 29, 2014. Born on May 17, 1991 in Sanford, Florida he was the son of Jack and Carolyn Broomfield. His family moved to Maybeury, WV in 1998 and he graduated from Mount View High School in 2010. Besides his parents, those left to cherish his memory include: two brothers, Robert and Jack Jr., one sister Melanie Broomfield, of the home, and Uncle Danny Witt. Charles is preceded in death by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his Paternal Grandparents Woodrow and Rachael Broomfield, Maternal Grandfather Roland Heath Sr., Great Grandmother Dorothy Heath, Uncle Roland Heath Jr. and Special Aunt Susan Broomfield. Charles began a yearly tradition of participating in the McDowell County Special Olympics in 2007, which is something that he truly enjoyed doing and looked forward to every year. Charles was planning his next Special Olympics that is scheduled within a few weeks where he hoped to increase his medal count to over 50. He loved going for walks, hiking in the mountains and playing video games with his brothers. Charles had a kind heart, always willing to help anyone that he could, and a smile that was contagious to anyone who saw it. He enjoyed his job at Long John Silvers in Bluefield, loved all of his co-workers, especially Margaret Finley who was like a second Mother to him. Charles leaves behind a great void in all of our lives but he did leave the gift of his beautiful smile and kindness to: His Maternal Grandmother Diane Cox, favorite Uncle Johnny Broomfield, Special Cousin Dottie Caruso and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, neighbors and friends to last us all a lifetime. Services will be conducted on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the Maybeury Church of God in Maybeury with the Rev. Kenneth Abram and Rev. Omar Burns officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 5-8 pm at the Maybeury Church of God. Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
