Ralph B. Dyson, Sr., 74, of Keene Court, Bluefield, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 5, 1939 in Yukon, he was a son of the late William G. and Myrtle Faye Baker Dyson. He had been a resident of Bluewell for most of his life. He turned his life around for God and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the coal mines with 32 years of service as a mine foreman and also worked as a truck driver for ITI in Falls Mills, VA. He was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 AF&AM.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, June Dyson; and brothers, Tommy and Roger Dyson.

4 great grandchildren: Dylan Bobbitt, George Stinson, Makenna Shelton and Stephan Stinson
Brother: Lawrence Dyson and wife Judy of Bluefield
Sisters: Anna Ruth and husband Ron Karner of Hammond, IN
Betty and husband Jerry Francisco of Montrose, CO
Helen and husband Jimmy Compton of Bluefield, VA

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David Kirby and Rev. Curtis Honaker officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where the Bailey Masonic Lodge #137AF&AM will conduct last rites and will serve as pallbearers. Jarrod, Clint and Aaron Slaughter, JP Agee, Remington Dyson, and Brandon Stinson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
