Ruby L. Rogers

Ruby L. Rogers, 84, of Giatto Road, McComas, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on July 31, 1929 in Dott, she was a daughter of the late William and Flossie Casey Shrewsbury. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, larry Rogers; 4 brothers, Doyle, Mac, Donald, and Jimmy Shrewsbury; and 2 sisters, Evelyn Toolery and Jewel Ritch. Survivors include: Husband of 66 years: Lamer Rogers of the home 3 sons: David Keith and Deena Rogers of Vale, NC Michael and Kay Rogers of Bluefield Barry and Sherri Rogers of Lorton Lick Road 2 daughters: Susan Rogers and Kimberly Rogers of the home 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren Brother: Berkley Shrewsbury of Pulaski, VA Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Greg Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Steven Rogers, Thomas Rogers, James McDowell, Dustin Goins, Randall Farmer and Josh Hatfield will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
