Paul Bell

Our Heavenly Father came and took his child Paul Stevenson Bell of Bluewell, WV formerly of Elkhorn, WV home to be with him on May 1, 2014 at the age of 66. Born on January 10, 1948 in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late Steve Bell and Mary Alice Bell Sayers. He was a graduate of Northfork High School class of 1965. He went on to college in Charleston, WV but after his first year he was drafted into the United States Army where he served as Operations Sergeant with the Charlie Company, 3d battalion, 19th Infantry during the Vietnam crisis. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He was employed at Gauley/Robertson, Inc. at Hico, WV until he retired in Febuary 2014 due to his illness with cancer. He loved his Lord and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Bluefield, Va. were he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Christopher Paul Bell on August 1, 2013. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Dana Bell who loved him dearly, a daughter Amy Bell of Bluefield, WV, a stepson Christopher Tibbs and wife Paula of Bluewell, WV, a brother David Bell and wife Susie of Princeton, WV, a sister Brenda Parsons and husband Curtis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Four grandchildren Ashley Hayton and husband Travis of Bluefield, Va, Alyssa Colo and Tyler East of Bluefield, WV, Chase Tibbs of Bluewell, WV, two nephews David Ernie Bell, and Jason Parsons, two nieces Melissa Forbes and Renee Edwards and several cousins. A service to celebrate Paul's life will be Sunday May 4, 2014 at 2 pm at Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA. with Rev Lacy Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Bluewell WV. Pallbearers: Chuck Lilly, Mike Carter, Chuck Hurley, Harold Chinsolo, Gene Buckner, John Perry, Sonny Farmer, and Vernon Altizer. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Memorial Baptist Church and Dr. Domingo Javier. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Memorial Baptist Church, Bluefield, Va. from 6-8 pm.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com   Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal Heritage Road (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV 24701 is serving the family.
