Ricky Lane Slade

Ricky Lane Slade, age 48, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away in Charlotte on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.   Ricky was born on March 24, 1966 in Bluefield to Bobby Slade and Linda Jones Slade of Bluefield, VA. He was a graduate of Graham High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bluefield College, a Master’s Degree from University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s Degree from Averett College. He was employed by Wells Fargo Bank in Charlotte for the past ten years. Ricky had a great sense of humor and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.   Ricky was preceded in death by his grandparents, William B. Jones, Ralph Slade and Pansy Slade.   In addition to his parents, survivors include:   Grandmother: Mary E. Jones   Brothers: Michael B. Slade of New York                  David L. Slade and wife Teresa of Bluefield, VA   Sister-in-Law: Susan Slade of Pulaski, VA   Special Nephews: Jamie Slade and Jacob Slade   He also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends   Ricky was a great lover of animals and left behind his dog, Baxter and his cat, Remington.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Jimmy Dickens officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where his friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 AM til 1:00 PM prior to the service.
